Our professional nurses have
come to expect both exceptional demands and exceptional rewards
from The Scottish Nursing Guild. They are each specifically
recruited for their ability to respond to difficult and last
minute assignments.
In recognition of their skill, commitment and flexibility, our
policy is to support our nurses above and beyond their normal
expectations. Our pay rates set the pace in the nursing sector
and include generous increments for working on Bank Holidays.
What’s more, our nurses are regularly offered free mandatory
CPD and PREP study opportunities to enable them to keep up-to-date
with the latest best practice. Nurses also have free access
to the Educational Resource Centre hosted at our office in Edinburgh.
Nurses can also call upon the advice and support of RCN trained
Learning Representatives. |

Our team of recruiters interview
nurses right across the country, usually in premises conveniently
located for the applicant. We apply a strict set of criteria
to ensure that all nurses are properly qualified, experienced
and adaptable to client needs. Following a successful interview,
the completion of all essential checks and the receipt of satisfactory
references, nurses join our team and start taking on assignments.
The Guild's national Call Centre becomes the link between nurses
and their temporary assignments. Each nurse regularly contacts
the Call Centre to make their preferences and availability known
and our highly trained operators search for assignments which
best fit each nurse's requirements and skills. Every effort
is made to find work that is conveniently located, although
nurses may be expected to travel a reasonable distance (a car
mileage contribution is paid for the journey to and from work).
Due to the fluid nature of the environment, shifts cannot always
be guaranteed. But the success of the Guild formula with clients
means that work is often plentiful in most regions of the country.
Once a vacancy has been found, the Call Centre will contact
the appropriate nurse with details of the assignment. At this
stage the nurse will be able to accept or reject the work. If
accepted, the nurse will then be responsible for punctually
arriving at the client's address wearing the appropriate uniform
and carrying their ID and timesheet.
Guild nurses are expected to work hard and professionally for
our clients at all times - our good reputation is founded on
the competency and attitude of our nurses. |
