Challenging Behaviour and Dementia Awareness – Dundee – Ashludie Hospital

This course will provide you with the theoretical knowledge on managing challenging behaviour and dementia. The first half of the day deals with challenging behaviour, and covers the following topics: Who presents and what is violent behaviour, risk assessments, methods for managing challenging behaviour, after an incident and the use of restraint. The afternoon will deal with Dementia Awareness and cover the causes and types of dementia, understanding and recognising dementia and what steps to follow for diagnosis and future care.
