ELDER ABUSE

This course will provide you with the theoretical knowledge on how to deal with abuse. This one day course will cover: Definition of abuse, how do we know it happens and why, who abuses, confidentiality and whistle blowing. At the end of this course you will be able to recognise the different types of abuse that can happen to the elderly and who may do the abusing, you will also be able to understand the need for confidentiality and become more confident to whistle blow on someone you think treats an elderly person in inappropriate ways.
